We’ve outgrown our home.

Let’s build a new Orillia Soldiers’
Memorial Hospital today.

Everything we do today
affects
tomorrow.
your health.
your parents.
your children.
the community.

Unless we act today, our hospital which is already over-capacity will face even greater pressure tomorrow. We need to start building a larger, modern hospital to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community.

Our team urgently needs it. Our community deserves it.

It all adds up.

Operating beyond physical capacity

0

Amount of Emergency Department visits from outside of our area, increasing wait times by 25% in the last 10 years.

0

Capacity that we are operating at. For two years in a row, OSMH has had the highest occupancy rate of all medium and large-sized hospitals in Ontario.

0

We have the oldest hospital infrastructure in the region, with parts of our hospital aging 101 years old.

0

By 2035, we will need 102 additional beds to serve our community.

0

Our population has grown twice as fast as the rest of Ontario over the past five years. It’s expected to keep climbing by nearly 45% over the next 25 years.

0

Increase in the number of births OSMH has seen annually from 2011 to 2021.

We need to start today so we can
serve a better tomorrow.

We can’t continue to patch and repair our
aging hospital indefinitely.

  • Overcrowding in hallways due to overcapacity

  • bed-with-window-air unit

Portable air handling units do not reflect modern standards

  • two-ICU-beds

    Overcrowded ICU rooms

  • Foundation of building
    falling apart

  • raining-in-hospital

Flooding in MRI suite and NICU unit

We can’t continue to grow without
the hospital infrastructure our
community deserves.
